Cat Watch (White with 1 - Duck Egg)

This month's challenge at White... with 1 was very challenging to say the least!

Duck egg blue!

In the past 2 days while working on this project, I've realized that i just might be a bit colorblind
as I had the hardest time trying to capture the essence and perfect hue for this beautiful color.
After spending quite a bit of time mixing white, blue and a touch of yellow (I googled the recipe - hehe), I think i finally attained the right combination

Here goes...

This picture of our furry baby, Sugar, is so adorable and a little bittersweet at the same time.  Let me explain...  We adopted Sugar when she was 2 years old and we were told that, despite her having been declawed (front paws only), her previous family did let her go outside, but to what extent, we do not know.  Because we want to keep her safe, we keep her indoors, but she wants to go out so badly!  We tried the harness and leash thing a few times last Summer, but she was able to get out of the harness and didn't waste time heading off to explore the grounds.  We live on a fairly busy street and there have been sightings of coyotes in the nearby woods, so needless to say, it is a bit disconcerting to think of her roaming away too far.  I have hopes that we will eventually find the perfect harness out of which she won't be able to escape.  I do believe that cats are meant to roam nature, hunt the occasional bird or butterfly and lounge in the tall green grass on warm Summer days...  so it breaks my heart sometimes when i see her sitting on the window ledge looking at the world outside.

Do any of you have an indoor cat and feel the same way?

 Time for some close-ups!

I love these flowers from Recollections, bought at Michaels.
So lucky that they happened to be the right shade of blue. :)
