NOT OLDER MORE VINTAGE Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - May Mood Board
+ Scrap The Girls May Challenge)

It is time for me to share with you my project
inspired by the May mood board at Dusty Attic.

Here is this month's classy and elegant mood board:

I was inspired to create a page about myself using some of the same colours
and textures as in the images, including lace, white wash and pretty flowers.

I was also inspired by this month's challenge at Scrap The Girls:

I created this page to remind me that getting older doesn't have to be a bad thing.
I will be turning 45 next month and I'd rather see myself as getting more vintage
rather than older. Birthdays should be celebrated and not dreaded, even when you
may be going down hill. hehe

I created my title by combining the Dusty Curls ABC Set and the Mini ABC Set Upper
as well as the 'vintage' word from the Mini Words #3 pack.

I cut one of the gorgeous Corner Flourish #3 in 2 pieces, treating each piece a different colour of embossing powder to complement the colour palette. I then dabbed some white paint on them.

On my background, I chose to use the Lace Stencil to add a little texture.
I used gold embossing powder on the butterfly from the Flutterbies #1 set.

My favorite part of creating a project aside from playing with chipboard is searching my flower stash to pick the ones that will best fit my colour palette and theme. Needless to say, I have more flowers in my stash than I will ever be able to use in a lifetime!

And the many leafy flourishes from Dusty Attic are just perfect
to extend the flower clusters on any layout.

Now let's take a closer look at the Dusty Attic products that I used:

KEEP BREATHING & BELIEVING Tag
(More Than Words DT - May Mini Challenge)

It's Mini Challenge time over on the More Than Words blog,
and this month I created a tag especially for it, using the May mini word!

Take a look at the May Mini Challenge board:

Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

Tags are so fun to make and I never tire of making them!

For this one, I searched my stash for anything with the word KEEP on it,
and I found some die-cut and sticker from 7 Dots Studio.
Then I looked for a base tag in my tag collection to go along with the colours,
and then my favorite part... picking flowers. :)

I added a smaller black tag on my tag
and colored my wooden butterfly black too.

I really love the finished result!

Hoping you will play along with us!

ALWAYS FIND TIME Mixed Media Canvas
(Dusty Attic DT)

It's my turn to share my first monthly DT reveal on the Dusty Attic blog,
and I created this mixed media project for it. My fingers are still blue and purple!

I totally fell in love with the many new chipboard Industrial series from Dusty Attic,
and I wanted to use a few pieces on a canvas. I opted for this long and narrow base
which I primed with gesso and then covered in different mists and paints.
I then added some texture using modeling paste with the DA Squared stencil
and then added more mist and paint and added some glitter.

I used the Industrial Border #2 as well as the Industrial Corners.
These pieces I have covered with embossing powder and then dabbed with
Dusty in Colour Oceania and Capri paints.

I thought that this Winged Key would be a great focal point for my canvas.
I used gold embossing powder on it and then dabbed on some blue, lilac and gold paint.
I thought it would look cool to add a metal key on top of it.

My canvas being so tall and narrow I had to look in my stash for a title that would
fit and thankfully Dusty Attic has titles of all shapes and sizes.
This one was also perfect for the type of sentiment I wanted to express.

After all my chipboard and embellishments were stuck down,
I sprayed some aerosol adhesive and sprinkled lots of sparkle
using the Dress My Craft Angel Mix sequins.

Here is the list of Dusty Attic products that I used on my canvas:

Chipboard
Winged Keys - DA1955
Clockworks Small - DA1749
Industrial Border #2 - DA1950
Industrial Corners - DA1952
Always Find Time - DA1458

LOVE THIS MEMORY Layout
(More Than Words DT - May Main Challenge)

YAY! It's the month of May!
Here in eastern Canada, that means that Spring is finally here. Yes, I know, Spring is supposed to start in March, but where I'm from, it's always a little late. There's actually still lots of snow in my yard, believe it or not. And I am so looking forward to it all melting away!
It's just a matter of time...

Speaking of time, it's time for a brand new challenge at More Than Words!
And here is my take on it:

Here is the May Main Challenge that I just know you are going to love!

Word Inspiration - MEMORIES
Creative Challenge - FRAME

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

For ages, families have been posing for traditional family portraits to keep in frames in their homes. In one family portrait are countless stories and treasured MEMORIES. This is my family dating back to when I was only a baby, and even though I do not remember this time myself quite obviously, I am so happy to have this beautiful photo to cherish.

I added many FRAMES to my page for the creative challenge. Let's take a closer look.

First of all, this title is one of the new impact titles from Dusty Attic.
They are gorgeous!

I found this adorable badge in my stash from Cuts2luv that was perfect for my page.
And all the chipboard, including the very gorgeous Ornate Frame, are from Dusty Attic.

The smaller frames used are wood on which I added different distress stains.

I used mostly embossing powder on all the chipboard, dabbed with a little white paint.

Here we are... captured together in a loving memory.

Have I inspired you to play along? I sure hope so!
